Yenny Delgado
Founder and Director
Abya Yala Theologian and Peruvian psychologist. She is recognized as one of the foundational voices and promoters of Abya Yala theology.
Yenny Delgado is a passionate scholar and activist committed to advancing a decolonial, liberating, and political Abya Yala theology. She has a strong academic background, holding multiple degrees in religion, psychology, theology, and development and cooperation. Her studies have taken her across Peru, Costa Rica, Mexico, the United States, Spain, and Switzerland.
In addition to her academic trajectory, Yenny is an active religious leader. For more than a decade, she has engaged with faith communities, social movements, and local governments to advocate for decolonial education. She is a member of the Advisory Committee on Social Witness Policy within the Presbyterian Church. Yenny serves on the Steering Committee of AAR’s Status of Women and Gender in the Professions Committee. Since 2020, she served as the convener of Women Doing Theology in Abya Yala an ecumenical, intergenerational womanist space dedicated to amplifying women’s voices in theological education in Abya Yala.
